The Amazing Puzzlewood

An astonishing experience for all the family

What is Puzzlewood?

  1. Puzzlewood is a 14-acre ancient woodland, known for its twisting tree roots, moss-covered rocks, deep ravines, and secret pathways. The landscape has a natural, almost magical quality that feels like stepping into a fantasy world.
  2. Ancient Origins - The area is on top of prehistoric iron ore mines, dating back to the Iron Age or Roman period.
  3. 19th Century - In the early 1800s, a local landowner laid down wooden walkways and paths, creating a "romantic woodland walk" for visitors.  The twisting paths and strange rock formations began attracting tourists even in Victorian times.
